About the Artist

I am a New York-based artist working across portraiture, landscapes, still life, and figurative drawing.

My interest in art began as a child, copying comic strips from the Sunday newspaper. A generous neighbor introduced me to watercolor techniques, perspective, and the basic principles of design. Those early lessons gave me the skills and confidence to create illustrations for my high school yearbook.

Early Beginnings

After high school, I studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. I later joined the graphics department at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where I worked for several years while continuing my art studies.

Over the years, I worked in graphic arts departments for a variety of corporations. In 1990, I joined the Altria Corporation graphics department, where I remained until my retirement in 2005.

I enjoy working in a wide range of mediums, including:

My work includes portraits and figurative studies, reflecting a lifelong interest in observation, drawing, and the expressive possibilities of different materials.
